Use a heaping teaspoonful of herb to a pint of boiling water. Use this in a douche. These teas are very disinfectant and healing.

An exceptionally fine solution is a rounded teaspoonful each of golden seal and myrrh steeped in a quart of boiling water and used as a douche.

Some precautions to observe when your monthly period first arrives are well worth their seeming inconvenience. Stay off your feet as much as possible and keep your hands out of cold water. In the winter and during cold weather, do not go to bed with cold feet. Take a hot footbath on retiring or use a hot water bottle or an electric pad or blanket. A gallon jug of hot water at the foot of the bed is excellent.

Fomentations are a great household weapon, as they will relieve much suffering and pain. They are very beneficial when applied to the lower spine and abdomen of a woman suffering with menstrual cramps.
